Although rated at 12 volts this geared motor works well on 5 volts and still has amazingly high torque. On 5V supply it draws only 7mA With 5V and high mechanical load the current goes up to around 100mA. Especially on no load, it it virtually silent. Due to the high torque capability, I decided to clamp a crank to the shaft instead of using a grub screw (see photo). Four M3 screws are required for fixing. Depth of thread is just 3.5mm. My only criticism of the motor is the tiny weak solder tags (which had been bent over before delivery).

nice motor, gearbox and majority of parts is from metal, however the main cogwheel is from plastic. I ordered two of them, both are same and working well. I’m a bit afrade that if this will run for longer time at one, the plastic could melt...?
